  1. You should be using Autodesk Screencast or hosting your video on YouTube or just post a picture. Few will download a 12Meg video for fear of virus. I downloaded it and it gave essentially no information since the video portion is missing, just audio.
Without trying the video [since @dbroad mentions the video part is missing], SLICE is the command to trim bits off a solid object. Or if trimming is not along a flat plane, as SLICE would do, if you can construct the inverse as another solid, you can SUBTRACT it from the original.
let me know if there are issues with accessing or viewing the video clip. There might be some privacy settings I need to change, but with privacy settings of social media being immeasurably complex, unintuitive, illogical, and cumbersome, there may be a setting I need to change.
I have installed AutoCAD 2004 on my laptop which has Windows 7, 64 bit OS. Some errors did come up during installation but it seems to have installed ok, because the AutoCAD sign is on my AutoCAD documents have got the AutoCAD icon already. However, nothing happens when I try to open my autocad documents, it does not open. How can I get AutoCAD 2004 to work on my computer? I’d appreciate any help.
Even I was a victim of this and I lost 3 days of work and redone again. I have upgraded the workspaces and continued by adding transformers, later I came to know while testing from -am-i-getting-the-error-error-using-autocad-od.html. So I have to come back by considering backup again and redo the activity…
Hi @rudy_v and @pratap. My sincere apologies for the delayed response and our poor handling of the change. Unfortunately, we did not have a choice in the change, as AutoCAD discontinued the 32-bit library. However, we should have definitely implemented a better method of communicating these changes to the users in a timely manner (at the moment the only mention appears to be in the format matrix based on bit-version).
Two known issues have been filed, one to improve the communication when opening the workspace (PR 78154 – Workbench: upgrade makes workspace unrunnable when format deprecated), and another to add a note to the Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data Reader/Writer documentation (PR 78157).
In the future, we will strive for a more timely communication and response to these types of changes. If you have any other suggestions about how to communicate these types of changes, please let us know.

Another year has gone by, and we have a new release of the Autodesk flagship product AutoCAD. So, this year we have the new and improved AutoCAD 2018 release. In this blog, I look at some of the best bits that will help improve your everyday drafting tasks.
The file navigation dialog boxes such as Open, Save, attach now remember the sort order of the columns. If, for example, you sort by file size or reverse sort by file name, the next time you access that dialog box it will automatically display files using that same sort order.
The Layer Control option is now part of the Quick Access Toolbar menu. Whilst previously you could right click the layer control and add to the menu you can now pick it from a list on the quick access flyout menu.
The rubber-band line is a line that stretches dynamically within the drawing area as you move the cursor between two points. You will have previously seen this when using move or copy. In this release, you can now specify the color of the band using the color options.
AutoCAD 2018 now supports high-resolution monitors to ensure the best possible viewing experience on 4K displays and higher. Commonly used user interface elements, such as the Start tab, Command line, palettes, dialog boxes, toolbars, ViewCube, pick pox, and grips, are appropriately scaled and displayed as per the Windows settings that you use.
The Recognize SHS Text tool allows you to select import pdf geometry and it will convert it to text objects. It will analyse the selection set and compares them to SHX cache files stored on your system.
Greetings,Im try to install autocad2009 on windows 7, but haven’t been able to complete due to compatability issues.Anyone experience similar problems?Any solutions? Thanks for any help,Derek
I have experienced the same problems. I am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and autocad 2010 32 bit won’t install, even though I believe most 32 bit software is compatible with 64 bit os’s, but not the other way around. I can’t get the 64 bit version because it is not compatible with the 32 bit computers and plotters in the labs. Do you have the 64 bit version of windows 7?
I also had the same problem installing autocad 2010 32 bit. I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I know that autodesk has windows service packs for most of the autocad programs. although I’m not sure about acad 2010. the funny thing is that i was able to install autocad 2007 32 bit on my computer. so far, it’s running okay.
Hello to all,Being that I have windows 7 home premium I can’t run the Windows XP mode. The XP Mode is only for Ultimate and higher editions. With that said, have any of you tried this XP mode feature to run some of the 32bit programs that you had problems with in Win7? Supposedly, you can run both the XP mode and Win7 as a virtual operating system. I’m just curious to see if anyone had any success with it before I think about upgrading to Professional or Ultimate edition.I thank you for any info you can share on this matter.
I’ve got three machines in the office and one at home running Win7 x64–no problems with installing or running AutoCAD or Revit 2010.I don’t understand the issue with the x64 version of ACAD not being compatible with the 32 bit version–it’s the same file type. We have a mixed 32/64 bit environment at the office and there isn’t an issue with files across OSes. The issue is finding printer drivers for the x64 OS; that can be a bit tricky.XP mode works great–it’s a bit slow though and needs a fair amount of RAM to be practical. You also need a processor that supports hardware virtualization (boot into BIOS setup to check and enable). The slick thing is that you can have a shortcut to an XPmode program on your Win7 desktop that will run the program without booting up the full XP mode/window–the vitrual machine runs (somewhat) transparently.
Yeah, i’ve apparently got the 32bit Cad2009 and it wont work. Its the first i’ve heard of all this 32/64bit marlarky. Why does ‘advancement’ always end up with much more hassle?Derek https://drive.google.com/file/d/1O7q8SGbUPykw8O5STGUNveCnrh0Z1IaL/view
