昨日、小学校で遭遇したクモを捕まえた友達が、そのクモ殺そうとしたところ、息子は「やめよう」と言ったそうだ。以前、読んだ絵本『蜘蛛の糸』を思い出したとのこと。息子がその話をすると、友達も「そういえば、そんな話が」となって、クモを殺すのをやめたという。読み聞かせがこんなことにつながるとは想像していなかったけれど、無闇な殺生を踏みとどまってくれたのならうれしい。
