子どもが所属しているサッカークラブの保護者コーチに、という話をいただき、心構えや注意点などをお聞きした。
いくつかあるなかで、もっとも印象深かったのは、「自分の子どもと距離を置いてください」という話。これはわかっていてもなかなかできないのだけど、あらためてもっともな話だと思った。
つまり、保護者コーチをやるということは、誰か特定の子どもの親ではなく（実際は親だけど）、すべての子のコーチでなければならない。
こう書いていたら、何かで見た話を思い出す。それは、監督やコーチになった場合、自分の子どもと他の子の実力が同じくらいであれば、他の子を起用する。そのくらいでないと、他の親御さんからは「えこひいきしている」ように見えるかもしれないということ。
これって、自分の子ども以上に、自分の勉強だと思う。自分の子どもがそこにいても、全員を平等に見るなど、僕自身の訓練が必要になってくる。客観的に見る、というのは実際に行うのは、簡単なようで簡単でない。（僕の）心のトレーニングといっていい。
審判については、本日の練習試合での副審。これは、僕にしてはわるくなかったと思う。試合に気持ちが入り込みすぎることもなく、かといって、冷めすぎることもなかった。
サッカーの副審をやらせていただいた経験といっても胸を張るほどの回数をやっていないのですが、集中してゲームを見ているつもりでも、どっちがボールをピッチの外に出したのか一瞬わからなくなることがこれまであったものの、きょうはそれがほとんどなかった。これは、ゲームの流れを読みながらだったり、自分がプレーしているような気持ちで試合を見ることができたのだと思う。
また、間違っていいというわけではないが、自信を持ってフラッグを挙げたり、操作すること（意志を表すといったほうが適切かもしれない）が大事なのだろう。
審判に限らず、試合の流れを読みながら、予想しながら見る（これは自分がプレーする場合も同様）のが、もっとも重要なことなのかもしれない。
