土曜日、打ち合わせに向かう途中、通りすがりに初めて入った、新橋の小さな本屋で『色彩を持たない多崎つくると、彼の巡礼の年』に遭遇。帰りがけ、その書店の前を通ったら昼食に出ているのか閉まっていたし（店主ひとりで勤務しているのだろう）、汐留と新橋のあいだの大きめの書店でも「品切れ」になっていたのだから幸運だったのかもしれない。こういうのを、セレンディピティというのか。
