　妻の元ボス、ピート小林さんから、成増教会でのクリスマスの催し案内が届いた。歌あり、不良牧師（？）のトークあり。この不良牧師（僕が言ってすいません）のアーサー・ホーランドさんとは、何年も前、ピート小林さんに誘われ、池ノ上駅前の「ねぶた」でごいっしょしたことがある。

　その夜、アーサーさんが連れていたのは、本気の元ワルだった人で、敵対する組織との話など、なかなか聞けないリアルなトークが印象深い。ハーレーダビッドソンにまたがって説法してまわるアーサーさんには、こんな強面の人でも惚れるのかと驚かされた。いや、アーサーさんならと納得した。

　あのアーサーさんによる話なら、まちがいなく面白いだろう。「ねぶた」でのアーサーさんはむちゃくちゃエネルギッシュで男っぽく、ダンディでかっこよく、そして礼儀正しく、腰の低い人だった。

　成増クリスマス（あ、韻をふんでる？）。教会の建物は、磯崎新アトリエの設計なので、それも魅力。
