息子が始めたサッカーチームのユニフォームを発注するため、木場にあるスポーツショップをたずねた。そこで対応してくれたスタッフの方に、「やっぱり、こういうお店で働いている人はスポーツをやってた方が多いんですか」と聞くと、「私は野球でして」とおっしゃるので、「高校とか大学で、ですか」と言うと、「プロで」という返答をされ、ものすごく驚いた。というより、一瞬、意味がわからなかったくらいだ。
聞けば、元・中日ドラゴンズの高江洲（たかえす）投手ということで、都立高校からプロ入りしたという話だった。まさか、近隣のスポーツショップでそういう方が働いているとは。今度、野球やサッカーなど何かの際にはヒマラヤスポーツの高江洲さんを訪ねて相談してみようかなと思う。
