今朝のモーニングスケッチ。黒のボールペン（UNDER ARMOUR）を使用し、15分くらいかかっただろうか。
松尾芭蕉が「奥の細道」の旅に出かけたのは、元禄2（1689）年。海辺橋のたもとにある、この採茶庵（さいとあん）跡からだったそうだ。

nokdu was such a fun endearing character, especially when he was a woman in the widow village. once the setting moves to hanyang and nokdu commits to his revenge plot, the show felt dragged and slow. whatever was going on with dongju was lame and undeveloped since they barely explained it until the last five eps. she really is just a love interest and ive noticed kim sohyun’s acting is only as good as her script but she doesn’t get much input in this drama
this sageuk had so much potential with the concept but it could’ve been better. the ending was sloppy and rushed, i get that nokdu had zero intention of being king but his ending with his father felt incomplete. dont care if kang taeoh is a villain in this i wanted him to get the girl SO bad
The series is about a man named Nok-du who live on an isolated island with is family, learning martial arts and working hard when his family is attacked and he sets out to find the reason is life is under threat. This leads him to hide amongst women in the village of widows which then leads us on a tale of action, romance and comedy.
The episode starts with Nok-du skills in fish hunting and protecting his family from assassins. The beginning of the episode seems rushed as he promptly decides to follow one of the women assassin as she flees the scene, leaving his family under the care of his master.
We are told, instead of shown that all these assult attenmpt and living on an isolated island has been because of Nok-Du. One moment, the young hero is setting out to follow the women, the next moment he is in the capital city. No knowing how much time has passed or how he followed her through the sea.
Nevertheless, we have a quick introduction of Dong-Ju who envisions to kill the king but her opportunity is stolen. Many citizens are imprisoned, including Nok-du who was inches from his assassin. He gets himself and everybody else out of the situation the next day, sets a trap for the assassin and ends up following her to the Widow Village. To get in, he trades places with a woman and enters the village.
We see that the two, though friendly, do not trust each other and rightfully so. Another layer is revealed as we see that Madam Chun is in on the secret and calls Chief Heo-Yoon when the guard is doing her search. Meanwhile Nok-du hides with Dong-Ju but seems to be caught with the ingrowth of beard by his female roommate.
Though his mission is successful, he ends up finding the real Lady Kim tied up and saves her. He also comes across Dong-Ju visiting her abandoned home and listens to her relationship with Yool-Moo. Finally, he is caught in a palanquin with Dong-Ju, with assaulters and Ssuk outside, where neither of them can know his real identity.
Meanwhile, Nok-Du and Dong-Ju have a certain awkwardness among them which is partly due to urgent cloth changing and partly seeing the other person with their supposed lover. There is a little jealousy involved as well as the two are somewhere close to realizing their feelings for one another. The situation between these two turns depressing as they start to avoid facing the consequences of their feelings. The complete episode is consumed in romance and comedy between Dong-Ju and Nok-du with a little sprinkle of Aeng-Du.
The king finds out from one of the injured men that the widows are assassins and realises that the Kisaeng house Chief Yun frequents is located next door. He goes over to the place quietly and ends up meeting Nok-Du dressed as Lady Kim is exiting. The revolters successfully escape the king, thanks to Nok-Du and help him integrate into the corps. He now know the real boss of the corps is Heo-Yoon but is driven to find out his reasons.
As for Nok-Du and Dong-Ju, they keep bickering time and time gain only to come at an understanding that things are bad enough to not talk about them. They each go into action with their plans only to accidnetly find themselves in the middle of the fire of the widow village.
Since the king knows Nok-Du, he dismisses him to be the probable masked man. He also smoothes things with Dong-Ju as his alibi. The next morning, Dong Ju tries again to find a job at the palace and thanks to Nok-du barely manages to escape walking into a scam. Circumstances keep bringing the two closer than ever but again, there plans always take the front seat. Nok-Du concoats a plan to get the fake loan sharks get arrested and uses it as a cover to kidnap Yul-Mu but his right hand man, Dan-Ho manages to save him just in time. Now both, Dong-Ju and Nok-Du plan on entering the palace. Nok-Du gets first place in the military entrance exam and successfully faces the king as an honor only to find out that Yul-Mu is in the toes and the man he endearingly knew as a coincidence was his father.
Dong-Ju re-plans her revenge after hearing that the king ventures out at night in secret. the only problem: she does not know that he is the man she already knows. she keeps looking only to find the loan sharks from earlier who chase her into an isoleted well and leave her to die. Thankfully, Nok-Du finds her and save her before the episode ends and they end up reconciling.
Yul-Mu decides to dethrone the king by conunting his sins to the public and add the killing of his own son to the list. To do so, he must capture Nok-Du and present him to the king as his son to be killed. The two of them make a move simultaneously as Yul-Mu sets out to capture the master and his young daughter, Nok-Du makes a distraction to get the key from Yul-Mu that open the locker to his secret supporters. Nok-Du also imprisons his adoptive brother which alerts that he is planning something.
The episode open with the Queen freeing Yoon-Jeo. He rushed to keep Nok-Du from the path of revenge but encounters Dong-Ju casing the same temple area as him. they avoid each other until she is at a sword point when Yoon-Jeo saves her and delivers deep life advice to the girl. She might be re-thinking her path but Nok-Du is dead set.
Much of this episode was lost in the king leaving for the temple with Nok-Du by his side with Dong-Ju and Yoon-Jeo casing the area for their respective opportunities.
